Im trying to setup the xmlspawner to spawn in a region. I have a custion region
setup encompassing a forest area which is named Elandrake Forest. In the spawner props, I have set the region name to Elandrake Forest, and it is recognised by the spawner. Problem I am getting is the monsters all seem to
be spawning in one specific area of the region, and not throughout the entire
region itself.
I guess the question is, do any of the other properties need to be set or
nullified to allow the spawns to reach the entire region?
Thanks,
Jared
no. that should work. How have you set up your custom region?
If you are using the custom region in a box, make sure that you have the AllowSpawn flag on the custom region in a box region controller set to true for the region.
(edit)
You might also take a look at the recent 3.07a update. Your problem might be related.
I'm not using Custom Regions in a box. I used Arya's Region Editor to create
a set of custom regions for the world. I have also noticed, that it seems the
bunched up spawns are all spawing in the first box rectangle that was defined
as part of the region. I haven't updated to 3.07a yet, but I'll download and
check it out, I have been avoiding trying to use regions in a box because the
forest region I am trying to spawn in is horseshoe shaped around a mountain
on my custom map.
yes, I would check out 3.07a. You can also open up the spawner gump and look at the Rng setting for the spawn entries (extend the gump with the arrow button in the lower right, and then look in the Rng column at the far right of the gump). If it is set to something, then they will spawn together like that. Just clear that setting if it is set.
Well I found the problem with the regions not spawning. Sorry for the confusion
in all this, my spawns are now working regionally as well as the custom regions
themselves. I'm not sure why I didn't see the problem before, but thanks for
the attempts in helping Arte. Your spawner appears to have been working
correctly the entire time......
Thanks again for a wonderful system,
Jared
