I've been playing with the WriteMulti command and the MULTIADDON. From what I read, it sounds like you target a spot northwest of the multi and one southeast of it to define it, but I am not getting the entire multi, but just parts of it. Any idea what I am doing wrong. I am trying to go well past the multi on each side so that I don't miss any of it.
The multi I am trying it on is in green acres with nothing else around it, so it ought to be easy.

what does the command look like that you are using? Are you specifying any flags or z bounds?
You should be able to specify the bounding rectangle any way that you like, although nw corner and then se corner should be fine.
What is the multi that you are trying to grab?
Are you using the most recent version (3.09 or higher)? Earlier versions didnt handle custom housing, so if you are using an older version that might be the issue.
I tried several things. One is a Yew tree which has about 8 or 9 parts to it. Another was one of the standard house designs. I am not setting any z bounds. Using just a basic [WriteMulti filename.txt command and targetting the bounding area.
In each case I got part of the tree or part of the house when I spawned the exported file.

hmm. strange. I have not seen anything like that.
Can you post a screenshot?
what is the location of the Yew tree that you are trying to grab? If it is part of the standard map statics I can try it out myself.
Which house design is it? I can try that as well.
I just tried doing a Yew tree in greenacres. It took three tries to get it right. The left side of the tree is evidently further west than it looks.
There are 18 parts to a Yew tree. In order to get all 18 pieces I had to start the bounding box further west than I thought I needed to. But it works.
Then I built a "the rack" which is 2x4 tiles. I was able to convert all 8 pieces by targeting the ground around it OR by targeting on two corners of the rack itself.
Seems to work just fine!
yeah, lots of parts to the Yew. Did you make it yourself?
Yes I used Pandora's Box to build it.
I would attach the file but I'm not on the server so I can't.
I found an existing one at 511, 945 in tram. You do have to go pretty wide with the box to get it all. Attached file has the tree along with the nearby shrubbery.
I was trying to write a Yew tree that I had built in green acres using pb. Perhaps I did not have all the pieces or they were placed incorrectly. I'll take a look at your file.
one tip in targeting the box around things is to target one corner directly above the area you want (on the screen), and then make the second target directly below it (on the screen). This should be the perfect nw/se box.
