Mythndale… Rebuilding yet again.. New Ties
By kevin327 | November 4, 2014
The list has grown a bit from last he looked at it but it is time to just get things done. He is still working on getting stone and ore for the walls to be built about Mythndale to secure its inner boarders. He has also noticed that there are new rable about his lands and tends to clean them up. In his travels he has found there are Egyptian folks who have moved into his Southeastern lands and taken over one of Mythndales Mining caves.. that will be delt with straight away. He has sent out several letters to the leader or leaders of these people and will first attempt to let them move out peacefully or make some other arrangement for working his lands. if this does not work he will take proper action. There is also a great deal of Orc activity to the southwest and that wil be delt with as well.
Merrick has also decided to see what can be done about clearing the jungle within his inner boarders to allow more room for business's and of course townsfolks to expand and build new homes.
Merrick also met a very interesting young maiden warrior and was inpressed by her spirit and knowledge of her skills and life in general. He had the oppertunity of a private discussion with the maiden and she has agreed to join Mythndale and help rebuild the lands about. Merrick sits and smiles a bit to himself. He is very glad she has decided to assist him, for not only does she have the true spirit of a great warrior ... she is quiet beautiful. He cant help but realize that he like her company for more reasons than just her knowledge and spirit. he is very proud of her for jumpimg right in and setting up a meeting with an individual that he may not have approached on his own. After meeting with this person he is very happy they were able to come to an agreement of service as well and feels he will be a great asset to mythndale and many ways even though he might be considered a very strange choice. Merrick leans back and drifts off into thought, he is extremely happy over the happenings in the last couple days. Grim has made some armor which the Mythndale Guard shall where and is getting ready to distribute it out and get the Guard up and functioning. A new "Manor" was built and even though things are still getting finalized and decorated... he feels good about all that is happening. ... One thing he still cant help but notice is how his thoughts always end up back on the shieldmaiden.....

The Island of Hjärden

Lore of Land and People
-Overview
In the middle of freezing ocean, far away from charters that is made by people who lives in so called place "the Main Land", there was strong and traditional people of Hjärden, living in a large volcanic island, who were battling against harsh conditions of island and strict standards of the society.
Life was hard because of many elements, most strongest among them was cold weather during Ninth Winters but people of Hjärden was living rich and beautiful life when this hard life of theirs compared to lives of other people in known world.
Island was filled with tough forests, swamps and grasslands with rich soil. It was habbitated by almost 600 people. There were two major cities and many villages who were concentrated on fishing or farming. Do not let the word "major" trick you, since most of the population were spending their time in country side, far away from land of well- planned structures.
Just like any other country or soverieng, the politics of Hjärden was always taking a place in daily life. It was actually in a certain limit where the seperation of political views were effecting casual life of Freemen deeply. And also since the land was being ruled with Constitutional Monarchy, where the Monarch is more than a symbolic figure and almost center of three statues of the sovereing, there were big distinction between views of people.
But people of Hjärden was united and strong, no matter different views they had. When there was trouble, they always unite together and create an ace against the source of problem.
People of Hjärden were tall and thanks to the hard weather of the land the body shape of the folk was fit than any human being in Known World. Because of the limited genetic pool, there was no presence of dark colors within people of Hjärden, only colors that coul be found was blonde, red and orange for hair while blue and green, and even sometimes violet in special conditions.
Folklore and traditions was taking a great place within men of Hjärden. There were alot of different beliefs like variety of their religions, gods and goddess, totems and hexed symbols. But most important were, the place of Wolf-Riders and the people with Violet eyes, who were accepted as noble blood within society.
Hjärden men were calling Wolf-Riders as "Hunthgradenl" which is direct translation to "the One that can handle the Wolf", these men were believed as great warriors and had great respect among people, specially from people in country side since according to belief of countrymen, Huntgradenl are always scouting around their farms and houses, to protect them against people of shadow the Rotthakeridaan.
Note: I have blended my folk-lore with this story and put some ideas inside while taking the server lore in consideration Since I believe that it may be hard to understand the story I wanted to add a section where I clarify some words. Main-Land is where the story of Server is going on, existence is known by Hjärdenngers but nobody knows where Hjärden is. Rotthakeridaan are basically Drows with more bruteish shape, they are not intelligent like their cousins in Main-Land since they are really primitive, it is result of overhelming power of Hjärdenngers, they usually live in the complex cave system below the island, which have been created thanks to the volcanic activity. Other than critters of forests and swamps, fight between Rotthakeridaan and Hjärdennger is in really high peak. Some hate them while other believes that they do what they have to do to survive.

An Elaboration on Housing Rules
By DoubleA | October 28, 2014
Each player is allowed TWO accounts per household or IP.
Each household is then allowed a total of FIVE houses.
However, no single account may own more than FOUR houses.
Each account is allowed to own ONE town house.
If you have TWO town houses, they may NOT be in the same city. Households with two players (Husband and wife for example) may appeal this to staff.
The small NPC shop vendor locations do not count towards your house limit within reason. They MUST be used for stocked vendors. You may have a teleporter to a larger shop next to your vendor.

A thirsty skeleton knight
By Phaere | October 26, 2014
I turned around and saw the walking remains of what must have once been a great knight, thou alas clearly ravaged by centuries of unlife. Understandable, the knight was looking for a strong drink and asked if i had some for him. Thou we do not run a tavern, and our neighbour, Lord lancelynn abstains from any drinks stronger than milk, we alas could not help there, since looking for leo's stash of beach brandy was unsuccesfull as well. The knight then pointed to the liche's hinding out at the local cemetary, saying they generally hoarded booze and were to uncivilized to share.
Well, it was not a damsell in distress (or at least not recognizable as such) I still decided to help the knight (or maybe knightess, dunno) out by raiding the liche's winecellar, and lancelynn helped out as a good neighbour (he came back once he could not find the monster). the liches did not want to borrow us some booze, saying they did not trust the living or the living dead, and we could get their booze over their dead again body (actually, they just laughed at us, but well, that should mean the same).
after we did so, we found some vials of daemon blood on them, if something is bound to bring some fire back to some weary bones its that, so we gathered what we could find and got back home.
The knight was falling apart on a bench in fron of the house, and was more than looking forward to a stiff drink. After swallowing all the vials whole, the knight went into a coughing fit (it is strong stuff) and somehow dislodged a candlestick from inside. A very strange stick indeed, seemingly stuck there for ages and still burning, it seems to burn and grow back wax at the same time.
It seemed the knight was relieved to be rid of it and bid me to keep it, so now its on my front porch, gaining and losing mass and burning all the time. I am not spooked fast, but this does scare me some.

In Defense of Varstaad
By Drewko | October 24, 2014
This self proclaimed "King of Varstaad" is now dead but not before he did great damage to the city. In reality he was a brigand, bullying the locals for protection money and killing any who would not pay. He was not much in real fight against a skilled foe
Dappled always loved the feel of Varstaad. It is free, peaceful and open to all. She fell in love with the place long ago and stayed behind when all the others left.
Dappled realized she could not defend this city alone, she would need help.
Earlier in the day a young man showed up at her house, he was the descendant of one of her past adventuring companions. Gail Thorn, a young man eager for adventure, decided to seek out one of father's comrade in arms. Thorn eagerly signed on with Dappled when she told him of her plans. Now there are 2 defenders of Varstaad, Dappled knew they would have to find more.
The ink on guild charter was not even dry when Dappled road into the city to take down the murderer Balrock. Many of the towns people looked to her to lead but she was determined to insure that Varstaad remained free, even from her rule.
"Tell anyone that you meet about the Varstaad Defenders" she told Thorn "Might be that there are others who would join us".

The Last One Standing
By Scarlet | October 20, 2014

The Last One Standing
Have you ever felt like you had lost everything? No, more than that. Perhaps, that you were just running in circles on an endless path leading to terrible events; Your efforts? Pointless. Your work? Undone. Your surroundings? Gone. So many heartbreaks it can be... as long as one has a heart.
You know, those times where you wonder how it could even get worse, but it still does, and so often that you cannot even be surprised anymore. When you have reached that perfect darkness, right there, at the bottom of everything. That special place that you know just a few visited... those who had that storm and lived through it. You know what they say about those who have nothing left to lose, those survivors..?
--------------------------------------
It has been a long while. My pride did have some trouble swallowing the last ridiculous moves of the fake crown of Narrowhaven, and I'm unsure myself where I've spent my time. Here and there, lost, my usual geographical location. Walking in between words and paranoid thoughts, or dancing around that pit on the left side of my chest. There I was, standing in that warm sand of Mythndale, where my mansion stood.
In a gentle move, I pushed over my shoulder some of my blood red colored hair. I narrowed my eyes, the blowing sea wind mixing with sand was blurring my vision to the point where it would almost create psychedelic effects. Did I manage to lose myself? I stood there, still, on an empty beach. Why wasn't my sight delighted by red flowers running up pure white marble walls? And those sparkly ponds of clear water... and my treasures... and my artefacts... and my special room?! And my statue?! MY STATUE!
A growing sense of panic overwhelmed me and I threw myself into the sand. To hell my perfect red dress. My hands were searching, tossing and digging, in hopes that I could find a remnant of my memories; a proof that it truly existed. There had to be something, there, buried in that sand! I could feel the sand uncomfortably gathering under my nails as my heart rate was racing even faster.
"No, no no! It was mine! It had won the right to have it forever!"
I don't know how much time I kneeled in the sand, desperate to find a glimpse of anything, but the moon was up in the sky when I finally sat down, exhausted. I couldn't trust my own mind perhaps? Was I ever really here? Where had the Family gone? My title? Michael, where was he? My statue? So many questions, and only the sound of my own broken voice was echoing back to me. Shivering, I slowly stood up, being myself more messy than that beach that had been turned upside down by my bare hands.
I laughed, alone.
Oh how entertaining it was! How entertaining is it to find myself back in that position where I just have everything to build again? Nobody else would have that resolve. I am Scarlet. I've survived my way up to here, didn't I? I've witnessed so many fall... They always seem to choose the wrong path. My circle works so much better, it's never-ending. I'm not done.
So, I walked, in random directions, from places I knew, to the confusing regularity of straight leafy trees. The pages of my rune book were half thorn and I couldn't seem to focus at all on anything. Walking, eventually I will find something that speaks to me. I'm sure I've been assigned a much greater plan, this time, a true mission. I was blinded by my thoughts, my eyes seeing without seeing, my feet walking without knowing.
Where are you? My love, can't we meet somewhere, where the butterflies are red? Can't you follow those cold stone stairs? Can't you smell those flowers I leave behind for you? The greatest ideas can be born between those mossy walls...

Big Announcement! New UORP Team Lead / Owner!
By DoubleA | October 19, 2014
I am very excited about this opportunity and would like to thank TheGuy, Talow, Orlando and others for entrusting me with the future of the shard. There will be a lot of exciting new changes, fixes, balances and more in the coming months so we just ask you to bear with us through this initial period of organization and planning. Stay alert for more announcements to come!
And just to tell you all a little about myself! I am a 23 year old student who has played Ultima Online since the ripe age of 10. I have countless hours that I will never get back invested in the game and would like to think I have a strong understanding of mechanical balance and the scripts behind it. I have been role-playing in UO for about seven years, starting at the Genesis Role-Play Shard. I'm sure many of you know me from past servers and I hope we can have a lot of fun here together!
