"The Old Drow" a quick character introduction for E’lan.
By Bella Morta | November 23, 2013
was all she could manage. The unfamiliarity had no effect on her nerves, as it was peaceful to her, and her attention remained less on what was changing around her and more on what was directly effecting her.
As she hobbled on, she came upon a shop who's doors were open to customers. She quietly entered, moving slowly around the room inspecting the goods. A salesman approached her with concern in his eyes.."Ma'm, may I assist thee?"
E'lan mumbled incoherently and continues to gaze upon the wares.
"Are you seeking gems? Scrolls? Perhaps some magical regeants?"
E'lan looked up, her stringy grease encrusted locks hiding much of her face. But the salesman stepped back, almost gasping in disgust at her distinguishable features...Pale, sunken in face, one eye burning bright red while the other completely white. She is noticable half-blind, and old...yesss very old.
The salesman swallowed hard, lost for words.
"What thish ere be..!!" E'lan demanded in her low scruffy tone, pointing to a rock directly in front of her on the display.
"W-Well..th-that is a substance called immobirite. Its main element is...." and the salesman went on to tell the tale of the immobirite, as he had been told to tell it. E'lan stepped toward him, her face becoming close to his, ear tilted towards his mouth. The salesman, most uncomfortable with this stepped aside, and this became an almost stride through the length of the showcase as she continued to get too close for comfort. Upon finishing , the salesman clapped his hands together nervously, "Now, well, shall I wrap that up for you?"
After an uncomfortable pause, E'lan still very close to the man, clicks her lips and bows her head down shaking it "no", mumbling again under her breath. She then slowly turns and walks out, never looking back.
The salesman was in shock about the whole matter, and the strangeness of the situation. After his discomfort wore off, he pulled a rag from his back pocket and turned toward the display. As he sees what is there (or not there), he freezes in place as his mind replays what could have happened.
"Guards!!!" The salesman rushes out the door and the local guards and few pedestrians walk up to see what the matter was. "My wares! My goods! She stole them!"
"Who?" the guards inquired, and the townsfolk all raised questioning glances.
"The old Drow! Just walked out! You can't miss her!"
And a search began.

If it hadn't been the Engale kept disappearing for long spats in the past the queen might have thought he'd had been eaten by a dragon, this was not the case. Sasha, the only one left with a link to Engale, could feel him still alive.
But there was nagging all the time with that connection, while it was there, it was more like a busy signal, no an answering machine, Engale was alive, but he wasn't there.

Lost and Unknown
By Amarie | November 18, 2013
I awoke with a soft tickling sensation on my nose. I swatted at it only to have the sensation come again and again. I opened my eyes so as to see the annoyance, but was taken aback by the now blinding light filling my eyes. Screaming out in pain a closed my eyes shut and just flailed my arms wildly in hopes that what ever creature it was would leave me be. As the pain subsided I tried again being more aware that the light was not as gentle to my eyes as it once was.
It took some time for me to be come accustomed to the warm sunlight beating down upon my face. I was only to see shapes and shadows for a while. I searched about the ground on my hands and knees for anything, a bag, food, or just a simple reminder to me of how I got here. But alas the only thing to be found was the annoyance of a cat that followed me about. Simple Meows followed me as I trudged through the sand looking for any object. As the day wore on my sight and strength came back and the world was not so blurred.
When the sun was finally starting to set I seemed to have regained all of my sight back and my strength. I looked around but all I could seem to find were broken ship pieces and sand. I traveled along the shore for a ways with the cat as my companion. Not sure what to do next or who I really am. But it gave me great comfort in having such a tiny creatures seem to warm up to me. It began to consume my interests. What all did I not know about it. Why was this cat following me. That is when I tried to tame the cat and learn all that I could. Every creature was a new adventure and new story.
It only took about a day before we reached Narrowhaven. A very beautiful city with kind people and many many creature running wild. I felt at piece as I entered the gates of the city. The inn keeper was kind and gave me a place to stay with a bit of bread and water. Exhausted from my travels I took great pleasure in lying down in bed that night. The cool sheets brushing against my battered body gave me hope that I might be able to remember something.

As the stage curtain closes.
By Orlando | November 18, 2013
Sasha now had all the tools to recognize her fate, to plan accordingly, she could teach her no more. She had been disappointed but she knew that the child she carried would teach Sasha to love herself and to love another unconditionally without greed, or selfishness. Perhaps this was the makers plan all along, to create a human which was more human than the rest. As many might have seen the frailty of humans as a weakness, she knew it to be a strength. She had hopes they would push on, they would do more, they would do better than she could have done and maybe that would be her penance to watch them suffer without her to intervene. He flesh laid upon the empty grass knoll rotting away until nothing was left. It was here she wanted for Trance to deliver her to her punishment. The grass was wet still and stained from the blood that had run from her body as if trying to escape death itself. Everything in her wanted to survive, wanted to live, but she couldn't her time was up.As she left her body, she watched her past self rise from the ashes of that burned tent. She watched as the humans rose and fell over the eons as a spirit. It was like horror in repeat, over and over again she watched. Until she could repeat it from memory, every word spoken by every creature for a million years, she knew it all. This was her hell, watching but never being able to change anything.
This is something she both lamented and cherished at the same time. She was never truly alone, and over the centuries she watched as she saw her friends, her family, be born, grow old and die. It was the most devastating thing that she would ever experience. Who knows how many times she witnessed the past, present, and future. Eventually she looked beside her and saw a familiar figure. There was a woman with Crimson hair and fair skin, an awkward look about her, but a smile on her face an a tear in her eyes. Neira was shocked for a moment before she realized who this was.
"You... You are her? The she, the one, the beginning, the end." She stammered out so many words but the figure didn't respond. The woman turned to face Neira. At this point she already expected that this is when the real trouble began. The figure raised her hand and caressed her cheek softly, and in this moment tears fell from Neira's soft blue eyes, "thank you, thank you" she uttered, "Thank you" was all she could say and then as she closed her eyes and looked down, everything ended and there was no more pain, no more suffering, no memories of the past, of the present, of the future. There was nothing left, a blank slate and darkness. There is no telling what became of Neira the Necromancer after death, sure there were stories, and legends, but now the truth was gone, all that was left were two lonely gods sitting upon alabaster thrones, in a jungle known as life.
The End.

The missing regent
By Orlando | November 14, 2013
No one knew what to expect other than the city was falling apart and Queen Astra already had her hands full raising two small children. This was surely seen a disaster as the citizens resulted in unrest and crime was on the rise; However the inn was more profitable than ever doubling the sale of ales, and liquors in the past months.

A letter delivered by a blue bird
By MarcieEve | November 14, 2013
I know you have been busy with running the kingdom. I think it is great, everything that you are doing. I was hoping perhaps while you are working today, you would get my note. Perhaps if you could manage to set aside some time for me today, I would love to be able to have a dinner together. There are some important things that I think we need to discuss, hearsay that Ive heard of appearances in Narrowhaven. I know you are busy, my love, and I understand if you cannot find time today. I wish you only some good cheer and conformation that I will be here waiting for you when you come home.

A Letter to Vuradin Tormtor
By Astra Vandoras | November 10, 2013
We are having a party! So we need money. We need to pay the bard to play songs and tell stories. You should talk to him. He's nice. He's staying at the inn, and I told him you'd pay him to stay there. His name is Tho'ithar Undlin.
We also need chocolate! Parties have to have lots of food, and sweets, and chocolate! Oh, and drinks! People like drinks.
I want a party, because I'm Queen! I can do that!
Sincerely;
Astra

Beetle Bonding
By wardenoffaith | November 9, 2013
The creature was enormous for one. Its giant carapace shone in the light of the lanterns. Its mandibles clicked audibly as it wiggled about waiting for its next task. It seemed to take to him well enough. It loved melting down ore, and devouring the magic animating the elementals that came from the earth's anger when disturbed with a pickaxe.
He just didn't know what to make of it. The creature seemed content, but was that enough? He didn't want to find out the hard way in the deeps of the caves that it wasn't.
That settled it for him. Nothing else bonds one dwarf to the other like ale... and since that was out of the question considering its flammability, the next best was hunting. He took the creatures lead from the stable master and set out. They would hunt.. and the creature would feast. Then maybe he'd be more comfortable with it.
They walked through the streets, one leading the other, heading out into the wilds. Korr knew only the basics when it came to battle. It seemed they would learn together.
